This website
This site collects nothing about who you are. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and has no forms. One exception, so you know: links in NextBeacon's own social posts pass through a short counting address first, which records that the link was clicked (no name, no address, nothing else), and if you arrived that way your browser keeps that post's short tag for 30 days so that a purchase can be credited to the post. It never leaves your browser except as part of a purchase. It is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps the ordinary server records any web host keeps, such as the address a page was requested from, under GitHub's privacy statement. The fonts are part of this site itself, so your browser asks no other company for them.
The NextBeacon program on your PC
NextBeacon keeps your résumé, your profile, your company list, your scores and your application history in files on your own PC, in its own folder. NextBeacon LLC never receives your résumé, your profile, your company list or your application history. It runs one small service for four things: checking your licence, delivering updates, sending your daily report, and a few counts.
The program does connect to other services, each under that service's own terms:
- Anthropic (Claude). The AI work happens through your own Claude account. To score a posting or draft a résumé, NextBeacon sends the posting text and the relevant parts of your profile and résumé to Anthropic. What Anthropic does with that is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy and your plan.
- Employers' job boards. NextBeacon reads the public postings on the career pages and job boards of the companies you choose. Reading a public page tells that site only what any visit tells it.
- The daily report email. Your daily report is built on your PC and handed to the service, which sends it through its email provider, Resend, to the address you chose, from reports@mynextbeacon.com, and keeps no copy. The service records that a report went out, its size, and the address if you changed it, and it stops a PC sending more than ten a day. Nothing to set up, and no email password of yours is ever asked for or stored.
- The NextBeacon service. When you install, the installer sends your purchase key and a code that identifies your PC to a small NextBeacon service, to fetch your unlock code. Each morning NextBeacon asks the same service, with the same two things and the version it is running, whether your licence still stands and whether a newer version exists, and downloads that version if so. Once a day the program also tells the service its version, your Windows version, whether the scan ran, and how many postings it has scanned and scored. Unless you switch it off on the Config page, it also sends how many postings you have applied to, interviewed for, been offered and accepted. It sends your two choices on that page (whether to share those progress counts, and whether to receive NextBeacon news emails), and the service keeps the time of the last check. Counts only: never a company name, a job title or a line of your résumé. NextBeacon LLC adds them up across all buyers, never quotes one person's, and uses the totals to describe NextBeacon.
When you buy
Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to NextBeacon. NextBeacon LLC receives your name, your email address and the purchase record from Stripe, and keeps them to deliver your copy, handle any refund and verify your licence.
NextBeacon LLC does not sell, rent or share your details with anyone. It may send buyers an occasional NextBeacon news email; a checkbox on NextBeacon's Config page switches that off, and the choice reaches the service with the next morning check. Every news email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. If you want your purchase record deleted later, ask; it means your licence can no longer be verified.
What NextBeacon LLC never has
- Your résumé, your profile or your company list.
- Your scores, your applications or your pipeline, other than what your daily report shows while it passes through (see below).
- Your Claude account or password, or any email password.
- Your daily report. It passes through the NextBeacon service on its way to you and is not kept and is not read.
- Your card details.
